DESCRIPTION:Connecting parents with their peers \n\n\n\nMyTime is a free peer support program for parents and carers of children with disability\, developmental delay\, concerns about their development\, or a chronic medical condition.It’s a regular meeting place where you can take a break from appointments and daily demands\, connect with other parents and carers\, share experiences\, ask questions\, and explore information and support together. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMembers help shape the group by suggesting discussion topics and activities based on what’s important to them. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMyTime Marrickville is facilitated by parent peer workers who have lived experience raising children with disability or developmental delay. \n\n\n\n\n\nAt MyTime\, you can look forward to: \n\n\n\n\nChat over tea or coffee – in some sessions\, parents and carers catch up\, talk about their week\, and share ideas\, experiences\, and practical tips.\n\n\n\nLearn something new – some sessions include discussions led by the facilitator or a guest speaker on topics chosen by group members.\n\n\n\nTake time for yourself – occasionally the group will try activities that support relaxation and wellbeing.\n\n\n\nBuild connections with other families who understand some of the joys and challenges of raising a child with additional support needs.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho can attend?Parents\, family members and primary carers of children aged 0–18 years who have a disability\, developmental delay\, are neurodivergent\, have chronic medical conditions or where there are concerns about their development. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhenFive fortnightly sessions during school terms\, each running for two hours.All sessions run from 11am to 1pm AEDT (NSW\, ACT\, VIC and TAS).You’re welcome to attend any session. DESCRIPTION:Create wonderful opportunities for communication and interaction through fun musical activities. \n\n\n\nChildren develop important social skills like turn-taking and sharing as they engage in group play and follow an enjoyable routine. \n\n\n\nThis playgroup offers a relaxed\, fun-filled environment where children’s development is supported through music. The sessions include singing\, playing percussion instruments\, dancing\, and storytelling—all with a strong focus on interaction and communication. \n\n\n\nStarting in a new group can sometimes be challenging.
