DESCRIPTION:Connecting parents with their peers \n\n\n\nMyTime is a free peer support program for parents and carers of children with disability\, developmental delay\, concerns about their development\, or a chronic medical condition.It’s a regular meeting place where you can take a break from appointments and daily demands\, connect with other parents and carers\, share experiences\, ask questions\, and explore information and support together. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMembers help shape the group by suggesting discussion topics and activities based on what’s important to them. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMyTime Marrickville is facilitated by parent peer workers who have lived experience raising children with disability or developmental delay. \n\n\n\n\n\nAt MyTime\, you can look forward to: \n\n\n\n\nChat over tea or coffee – in some sessions\, parents and carers catch up\, talk about their week\, and share ideas\, experiences\, and practical tips.\n\n\n\nLearn something new – some sessions include discussions led by the facilitator or a guest speaker on topics chosen by group members.\n\n\n\nTake time for yourself – occasionally the group will try activities that support relaxation and wellbeing.\n\n\n\nBuild connections with other families who understand some of the joys and challenges of raising a child with additional support needs.\n\n\n\n\nDid you know we also offer a Vietnamese-speaking MyTime group? DESCRIPTION:Everything your child needs to develop their skills is readily available in the bush. \n\n\n\nPlumtree Nature Play is about slowing down\, having fun outside and enjoying time together in the bush. \n\n\n\nJoin us to discover simple ways children learn through outdoor play. Nature provides endless opportunities for exploring\, creating\, moving\, connecting and having fun. \n\n\n\nEach day in the bush is different. \n\n\n\nActivities are guided by children’s interests\, the weather and what we discover around us on the day. \n\n\n\n\n\nLearning outcomes could include: \n\n\n\n\nBuild independence through exploration and everyday self-help skills\n\n\n\nConnect with other children through shared outdoor experiences\n\n\n\nExplore\, create and solve problems using natural materials\n\n\n\nLearn through play\, movement and discovery in a natural environment\n\n\n\n\nActivities might include \n\n\n\n\nMaking mud pies\n\n\n\nBuilding with sticks\, leaves and other natural materials\n\n\n\nSlowing down to notice and explore small wonders in nature\n\n\n\nClimbing rocks and creating nature-based art and craft\n\n\n\nDiscovering different textures\, sounds and sights in the bush\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis program is for\n\n\n\nFamilies of children aged 0 to 8 years who have a disability\, developmental delay\, are neurodivergent\, or where there are concerns about their development. \n\n\n\nWe can welcome up to eight children in each group (plus siblings). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen\n\n\n\nWednesday 7 October 2026\, 10am to 12pmParents are required to stay on-site and are warmly encouraged to take part. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRSVP\n\n\n\nby Sunday 4 October 2026The session may be cancelled if fewer than four children are registered. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCost\n\n\n\nThis program is currently provided free of charge through Plumtree Children’s Services.
