They are also a great way for families to connect with Plumtree and other families in a friendly play environment where the whole family is welcome \n\n\n\nPrefer spending time outdoors? We also offer Explorer Play Outdoor\, where families can connect\, play and explore together in local parks and community spaces. \n\n\n\n\n\nDuring Explorers Play\, you will: \n\n\n\n\nHave opportunities to connect with other families and share ideas and information\, including the value of play and early childhood education.\n\n\n\nEnjoy a range of play activities.\n\n\n\nBe introduced to group time with enticing activities\, songs\, and books.\n\n\n\nHave opportunities to develop abilities in moving\, playing\, and communicating.\n\n\n\nMeet other families and share information and ideas.\n\n\n\nChat with professionals and ask any questions about your child’s development.\n\n\n\nHave fun!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho can attend? This playgroup is for families with babies and young children up to 3 years old\, including those seeking specialist developmental support from our team. Grandparents and siblings are welcome too! We ask all families to register before attending.Our indoor playgroup numbers are limited by the size of the space. Registration helps us plan for each session and make sure there is room for everyone who would like to attend.If you are also interested in Explorers Play in the Park\, you’re very welcome to attend both programs. Please note that registrations are managed separately for each group. 			\n								\n							\n						\n								\n							\n			Is the playgroup accessible?Yes. Sessions are held indoors in a wheelchair-accessible venue with accessible bathroom facilities.Our team uses visual supports\, Key Word Sign and other communication strategies throughout the session to support communication and participation. Activities can be adapted to suit different abilities and support needs.If you’d like to discuss your child’s individual needs before attending\, we’d be happy to chat. 			\n								\n							\n						\n								\n							\n			What happens if it rains?Explorers Play is held indoors\, with some outdoor play opportunities when suitable\, so the playgroup goes ahead in all weather conditions. 			\n								\n							\n						\n								\n							\n			Do I need to stay with my child?Yes. Parents\, carers and guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the playgroup. 			\n								\n							\n						\n								\n							\n			Do I need to attend every week?No. Families are welcome to attend as often as suits them.If you decide the group is no longer the right fit for your family\, we’d appreciate you letting us know. This helps us keep our records up to date and manage places for other families. 			\n								\n							\n						\n								\n							\n			Can siblings attend?Yes. Siblings are welcome to attend along with your child. 			\n								\n							\n						\n								\n							\n			Is this playgroup only for children receiving support from Plumtree?No. Explorers Play is open to all families with babies and young children up to 3 years old. We understand that getting out the door with young children can be unpredictable. DESCRIPTION:Connecting parents with their peers \n\n\n\nMyTime is a free peer support program for parents and carers of children with disability\, developmental delay\, concerns about their development\, or a chronic medical condition.It’s a regular meeting place where you can take a break from appointments and daily demands\, connect with other parents and carers\, share experiences\, ask questions\, and explore information and support together. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMembers help shape the group by suggesting discussion topics and activities based on what’s important to them. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nMyTime Marrickville is facilitated by parent peer workers who have lived experience raising children with disability or developmental delay. \n\n\n\n\n\nAt MyTime\, you can look forward to: \n\n\n\n\nChat over tea or coffee – in some sessions\, parents and carers catch up\, talk about their week\, and share ideas\, experiences\, and practical tips.\n\n\n\nLearn something new – some sessions include discussions led by the facilitator or a guest speaker on topics chosen by group members.\n\n\n\nTake time for yourself – occasionally the group will try activities that support relaxation and wellbeing.\n\n\n\nBuild connections with other families who understand some of the joys and challenges of raising a child with additional support needs.\n\n\n\n\nDid you know we also offer a Vietnamese-speaking MyTime group?
