DESCRIPTION:A parent peer worker-led Q&A on making your library more inclusive as part of your Community of Practice \n\n\n\nMeet some of our Libraries as Community Connectors team members to discuss any questions or concerns about including children with developmental delay and disability in your library programs.  \n\n\n\nMarie is a trained parent peer worker at Plumtree and a parent of a child with disability or developmental delay. Through her work with families\, she hears firsthand about families’ experiences in community settings\, including libraries. Rob is a State Library of NSW visiting scholar and library ambassador. \n\n\n\nThis interactive session provides an opportunity to learn from families\, share experiences with library colleagues from across Australia and strengthen your community of practice. \n\n\n\n\n\nDuring this interactive session\, we will explore: \n\n\n\n\nQuestions and scenarios raised by library staff\n\n\n\nWhat families have shared about their experiences in libraries through our consultations and surveys\n\n\n\nPractical approaches to making library programs more welcoming and inclusive\n\n\n\nOpportunities for libraries to share ideas\, challenges and examples from their own communities\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe recommend completing the Building inclusion in libraries eLearning modules before attending this workshop \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese sessions are forAll public library staff across Australia \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhenTuesday 17 November 2026;1pm to 2.30pm AEDT (NSW\, ACT\, VIC and TAS) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhereOnline via Zoom.
