DESCRIPTION:A workshop on helping children feel confident when visiting your library Some children prefer familiar routines and may feel anxious when going to new places\, including the library. A simple social story can help prepare them for the day and enjoy the experience.  \n\n\n\nSocial stories or social scripts are a research‑informed practical tool to help all children understand what to expect and feel more at ease. In this workshop\, you will learn how to create a social story tailored for your library that families can print or access online. DESCRIPTION:Create wonderful opportunities for communication and interaction through fun musical activities. \n\n\n\nChildren develop important social skills like turn-taking and sharing as they engage in group play and follow an enjoyable routine. \n\n\n\nThis playgroup offers a relaxed\, fun-filled environment where children’s development is supported through music. The sessions include singing\, playing percussion instruments\, dancing\, and storytelling—all with a strong focus on interaction and communication. \n\n\n\nStarting in a new group can sometimes be challenging. If your child finds it hard at first to be part of the group\, we encourage you to keep attending to give them the chance to settle in. \n\n\n\nTo get the best learning experience from this program\, we encourage parental involvement and interaction during each session. \n\n\n\n\n\nBenefits of Music Together: \n\n\n\n\nOpportunities to connect with other families and share ideas and information\, including the value of play and early childhood education.\n\n\n\nMusical play gives children opportunities to communicate both verbally and non-verbally while exploring and being creative through instruments\, dancing\, and singing.\n\n\n\nChildren will experience following simple instructions in a relaxed\, play-based setting.\n\n\n\nThe sessions follow a set routine each week\, helping children feel familiar and confident with what to expect.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho is this playgroup for\n\n\n\nMusic Together is a program for children aged 3 to 5\, including children with disability\, developmental delay\, neurodivergence\, or families who have concerns about their child’s development.
