SUMMARY:Connecting with your child through photography
DESCRIPTION:Encourage your child to express themselves with PhotoVoice… and have fun! \n\n\n\nWhat community activities do young children with a disability or developmental delay enjoy at the library or in their communities? Let them show you with their photos! \n\n\n\nSome children are better at expressing their likes or dislikes through images instead of words. In this two-part workshop\, learn to use PhotoVoice: an activity where you encourage your child to take photos of activities and places they enjoy\, or do not like and find challenging.We would like to focus this session on outings to libraries (though not exclusively). \n\n\n\nFamilies who have done PhotoVoice say that it helped their child become more confident in expressing themselves and making their own choices. \n\n\n\nOur online sessions are interactive and designed to create a safe\, supportive space for everyone. Recordings are not shared. \n\n\n\n\n\nCome along to explore: \n\n\n\n\nHow PhotoVoice enhances family engagement\n\n\n\nWhat photos can your child take\n\n\n\nDescribing the photos in your child’s voice\n\n\n\nHow to upload the photos\n\n\n\n\nIn the second session\, parents can ask further questions about this project and discuss their picture-taking experience. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial offer\n\n\n\nRegister and attend both sessions to receive a FREE small digital camera so your child can continue to enjoy taking photos after attending the workshop! (Available to families based in Australia only) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis session is for\n\n\n\nThe workshop is exclusively for parents; you’ll gain all the insights you need to share with your child afterwards.
