Parents leading for positive outcomes
Parents attend many meetings with professionals to get the best outcomes for their children. Getting the best from these meetings relies on parents being prepared and proactive.
In this session, we will share practical strategies and a framework to help you prepare for meetings and lead them more confidently. Better meetings mean better outcomes for our children.
Come along to learn more about:
- Making sure everyone understands the purpose of the meeting
- Leading the meeting so that your vision for your child is central
- Listening to everyone in the team
- Ensuring that everyone understands their role after the meeting
- Suggestions on how to follow up with the meeting recommendations to maximise outcomes for your child
- Gathering resources you need to follow through with any actions
- Overcoming challenging meeting moments
The ‘Let’s talk about…’ sessions are designed by families for families to discuss various topics and learn together. They are facilitated by trained parent-peer workers raising a child with developmental delay or disability.
This session is for
For families of children with developmental concerns, delay or disability aged 0-8 years.
This session builds on the Let’s talk about….Getting the most out of your child’s therapy and education team: Leaning into partnerships workshop. While attending both sessions is preferred, each session is also valuable on its own. However, we highly recommend participating in both sessions.
