Dorianne brings a rich blend of professional experience and lived wisdom to her role as a Peer Worker at Plumtree. With a Diploma of Mental Health, a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Teaching, she has spent many years supporting children and families in educational and community settings.
As a single parent, Dorianne understands the challenges families can face. She shares that there were times when she felt the weight of the world, and that participating in the Now and Next program helped her find clarity, purpose and strength. These experiences shaped her belief that there is always a way forward, even when things feel tough, and she is passionate about walking alongside families as they discover their own tools and confidence.
Dorianne’s values deeply align with Plumtree’s approach. She believes in respecting children as autonomous individuals, creating inclusive spaces where families feel understood and supported, and enabling parents and carers to help their children thrive. Her personal motto of no child left behind guides her work, ensuring she brings compassion, understanding and integrity to every interaction.
She is excited to contribute to the Peer Facilitator team by drawing on her teaching background, mental health training and lived experience to hold meaningful conversations with families and help create positive change.
