Sharon brings more than 30 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and Care, having worked across a range of services and leadership roles throughout her career.
Sharon joined Plumtree Preschool as Educational Leader in January 2024, supporting educators to strengthen reflective practice, inclusive pedagogy and meaningful learning experiences for children. In early 2026, she stepped into the role of Director and Nominated Supervisor, continuing to lead the preschool with a strong commitment to quality, inclusion and the wellbeing of every child.
Central to Sharon’s leadership is the principle that children’s safety, rights, interests and wellbeing are the paramount consideration in the decisions we make. She is passionate about ensuring this principle is not simply understood as a regulatory responsibility, but can be seen in everyday practice: in how educators listen to children, respond to their individual needs, support their agency and make decisions that affect their time at preschool.
Sharon believes every child has the right to feel safe, heard, respected, included and valued. She is committed to creating an environment where children’s voices genuinely influence practice and where relationships with children and families are built on trust, respect and connection.
Her leadership is grounded in strong relationships, thoughtful reflection and a shared responsibility to continually ask: “What is in the best interests of the child?”
Sharon is proud to lead alongside the Plumtree team, creating an inclusive preschool community where every child is supported to belong, participate, learn and thrive.
