Connecting parents with their peers
MyTime is a free peer support program for parents and carers of children with disability, developmental delay, concerns about their development, or a chronic medical condition.
It’s a regular meeting place where you can take a break from appointments and daily demands, connect with other parents and carers, share experiences, ask questions, and explore information and support together.
Members help shape the group by suggesting discussion topics and activities based on what’s important to them.
MyTime Marrickville is facilitated by parent peer workers who have lived experience raising children with disability or developmental delay.
At MyTime, you can look forward to:
- Chat over tea or coffee – in some sessions, parents and carers catch up, talk about their week, and share ideas, experiences, and practical tips.
- Learn something new – some sessions include discussions led by the facilitator or a guest speaker on topics chosen by group members.
- Take time for yourself – occasionally the group will try activities that support relaxation and wellbeing.
- Build connections with other families who understand some of the joys and challenges of raising a child with additional support needs.
Did you know we also offer a Vietnamese-speaking MyTime group? If you would like to connect with other parents and carers in a Vietnamese-speaking environment, you are welcome to join our MyTime Vietnamese group
Who can attend?
Parents, family members and primary carers of children aged 0–18 years who have a disability, developmental delay, are neurodivergent, have chronic medical conditions or where there are concerns about their development.
When
Five fortnightly sessions during school terms, each running for two hours.
All sessions run from 11am to 1pm AEDT (NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS).
You’re welcome to attend any session. During registration, you can let us know which sessions you’d like to join.
While we offer suggested discussion topics, you’re always welcome to bring along questions, experiences, or topics that matter to you.

Childminding
Childminding is available for preschool-aged children, depending on bookings and availability.
