Niki has previously worked as an occupational therapy assistant, allied health assistant, medical receptionist and student learning support officer. These roles have given her valuable experience working with a diverse range of people across health and education settings.
Through her placements, Niki has worked with children and families in paediatric services, as well as in dementia care and acute hospital settings. She is particularly passionate about play-based therapy, emotional regulation, and supporting families to build their child’s toileting independence.
Niki believes the best therapeutic outcomes come from working in partnership with children and their families, recognising that they are the experts in their own lives. Her warm, collaborative approach makes her a valued member of the Plumtree team.
She also works with preschools participating in the Sensory Ready Spaces program, which aims to create sensory-inclusive environments that support children’s regulation, participation and learning.
